Vestavia Hills City Schools Foundation

The Vestavia Hills City Schools Foundation is a non-profit corporation created to provide ongoing and dependable funding for critical academic "extras" such as professional development, technology, and classroom enhancements. These extras benefit every grade level, every academic subject area and every student in our school system. Making an investment in the Foundation will help to fill in the funding gaps that can make the difference between a good school system and a great one. Your tax-deductible contribution is an investment which will allow Vestavia Hills to continue to be a leader in public education.

Currently we are in the midst of our Growing our Children capital campaign. As the campaign name suggests, growing our Foundation provides a real source of funds that can grow with our children.Making a gift to the Foundation’s endowment is a permanent investment in Vestavia Hills schools that continues to give back. Today the endowment is funded with $1.5 million, and since only interest proceeds are granted, the endowment continues to grow. Our goal is to reach the $2 million mark, which will increase the amount we can give back to our schools.

We are excited about 2010, and anticipate awarding grants to all Vestavia Hills School and the Board of Education in the same areas during the month of February. The finalization of the grant awards was not completed at the time of writing. Please check our website for more up-to-date information on the grants received at each school.
